Kosher Gentile: Overheard

So, I'm moving to DC... tomorrow! Going to be Blue Artichoke's neighbor and I can't wait!

Now, by neighbor that means I'll be across town near where White Mackerel went to Priest School. It's been referred to as "the 'hood" and "the ghetto," but I'm quite keen as it's a block (count it, one) from the Metro. And the same line that school is on, though I will have to travel all the way around the city to get there because that's the way the red line works.

Also, and this is like my crowning achievement from where I used to work, I managed to waste time and go through Overheard in New York and actually won the Headline Competition. The way it works is the OINY staff puts a quote up there and asks for suggested headlines.

Mine made me laugh. I hope you all enjoy, too.

Meanwhile I have no recipes as I haven't been cooking. I've been eating out A LOT. This past weekend I ate out the entire time as I was out of town. I went to the umpteenth annual Lobster Festival in Rockland, ME. I went with a bunch of friends and did all kinds of exciting things, such as eating bugs (let's face it, crabs, lobsters, shrimp -- they're all just large insects that live underwater), playing four hours of volleyball, naked slip'n'slide, and hiking out the breakwater to a lighthouse. Yay!

I am still rather sore from the weekend, though debate continues as to whether soreness experienced by everyone is a result of a lot of volleyball or diving onto the ground to slide along a stretch of slippery plastic. I don't know, and I don't care. This soreness is totally worth both activities.

Getting to Know All About You: Ever done anything something starkers that you normally wouldn't? I highly recommend that if you answer "no" you find something quick, because it's way fun!
