Ha! In Your Face, Math!

When you've lived in a city for only four months with a population of over 580,000, it's unlikely that you'll run into people you know out and about. But in the last 24 hours, I have run into two people I know! The first sighting, yesterday, was a teacher from the studio where I work. She was walking away from the grocery store that I was walking to. She looked sad, so I didn't interrupt her. I guess she saw that the artichokes on sale were old and dry. That made me sad too.

The second sighting, today, was even less probable. I got onto a metro car and sat down facing a girl that helped me run lights and sound at a performance at the Greenberg Theater in May. I recognized her immediately, but I saw her looking quizzically at me, so I just read my magazine and ignored her.

As it turns out, I'm not friendly.

Ooh... I wonder if this is how you and I will meet up when I arrive this weekend. I promise not to look sad because of the artichokes.

I could very well look like a complete and utter disaster, though. I'm stressed beyond belief and am waking up on the verge of panic most mornings.

I didn't even answer the real question. The only one I can think of offhand is Caroline Rhea, who came to the Uptown Tavern in Denver one Saturday in the fall when I still lived there.

It was a Saturday, and I was there with my Tennessee friends to watch UT play some losers. She kept getting up from her table and walking around, and no one paid her any attention. She was very annoyed with our inattentiveness to her "stardom" -- but seriously, it's Denver, where people are really chill about that sort of thing and besides, we were all there for the Vols!

At the DC Gay Pride Parade, my lesbians and I saw some fat guy that was on Hollywood Squares. This was two months ago, but since I don't know his name, I don't know if it counts.
