Dinner & a Movie: Casino Royale
Last night, GC and I resurrected our ol' dinner & a movie habit. We watched the recent remake of Casino Royale, and I'm ashamed to admit that that was only the second James Bond movie I've ever seen. The first one one was an early Sean Connery one, but I can't even remember which. Anyway, we didn't decide to watch it until we sat down to eat, so the menu has nothing to do with the movie. In fact, GC had band practice and I got sidetracked so I didn't start dinner until pretty late. We had pan-fried chicken breasts with maple-mustard sauce leftover from last weekend's Easter ham and a salad. Definitely not a James Bond-caliber meal, but a healthy one to fuel us through those long chase scenes.
Getting to Know All About You: What's your favorite Bond movie?

I was surprisingly pleased with this most recent installment.... New Bond... small swim trunks... martinis.... exhausting opening sequence... oh yeah!

I quite liked this most recent installment of James Bond, but my fave is Goldeneye. It is entirely down to the fact that I did my study abroad programme in St Petersburg, which is where a lot of filming took place.
It was the same time Blue Artichoke was in Big House, I believe...

I actually think Casino Royale (this new version) may be my favorite. I like the darker Bond, minus crap like base jumping into a crashing plane (or was it a helicopter?), then flying it to safety. I can't remember which one that was, but come on, seriously.

Hehe... that was the opening sequence for my fave, Goldeneye. And yes, totally, utterly ridiculous. But I'm okay with that... Bond doesn't have to be real to be fun ;-)

Goldeneye is the one I saw from the front row-- we were late getting there-- and that opening base-jump-to-plane sequences was NAUSEATING... plus my neck hurt from looking up the whole time...
I liked Pierce as Bond... God Bless Remington Steele... but I agree with GMC-- darker Bond is better!
