Frustrating Fitness Challenge

According to the fitness plan, I should be ten pounds lighter by now. But the funny thing is that I'm not even close. It seems that working out 5 days a week and eating healthier (except for the snackdown party cookies) makes me gain weight. And sitting on the couch for two weeks eating cheesecakes and sweets has no effect either way. Odd. I'm going to start a food log to see where I'm going wrong. And I suppose I'll keep with the daily workouts in our new fitness center. How's everyone else in the Snackdown Fitness Challenge doing?

I quit the gym today.

But still managed to lose another inch without ever stepping foot in the place. I believe it's the skiing... and the Plague... and my recent addiction to soups.

Tonight is the infamous Sephardic Beef Stew :-)

Suggestion #2 for the fitness challenge participants (a followup to my inefficient kitchen layout suggestion, hiding of key ingredients in hard-to-reach places, etc.)... just turn your thermostat down 10-15 degrees. Shivering burns major calories. The effect is multiplied if you live in a tundric realm such as, oh, say, Michigan. And stop bundling up. Bonus: eating ice cream also increases the chilling effect; I believe in fact it might cancel out the caloric load entirely.
p.s. -- all this talk of losing weight makes me sad. Maybe this whole issue/problem would better be solved if we just stopped being fattists and learned to abide with, if not love, our girth. Skinny people are sharp and pointy and not fun to hug anyway.

My kitchen is way too small to really work up a sweat by hiding or making inaccessible items I use everyday, so I've started doing laps around the grocery store, making my way from one side to the other, then backtracking several times for items I forgot/missed the first few times I passed them. Grocery shopping now takes forever and tuckers me out. At least, before I banned all trips to the grocery store. Maybe I'll try the chilling method next. Gentleman Caller will be happy and I'll save a bundle on heating costs!

Well, I am up to like 8 lbs lost... YAY! Sadly I have not been to the gym in the last week b/c I've had "the Gunk"... Antibiotics are working, so I am hoping I can get back next week...

On an upside, a janitor @ school said to me, "You have lost SO much weight!" Sweet!!

No weight loss for me during this interval. I blame the cookies. And the giant tub of flavored popcorn sitting by the bed. And the laziness.

My total is still 4 pounds down, then.
